Sarah DeBruyn

Land Manager

Sarah DeBruyn

Sarah DeBruyn is a petroleum landman with over 20 years’ experience in oil and gas land and lease administration, acquisitions and divestitures, and has managed extensive lease and mineral holdings across Texas and the Rockies.  Prior to joining the Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds land team, Sarah assisted Hat Creek Energy in marketing and selling a high value Eagle Ford play, and spent almost 16 years with Fidelity Exploration & Production Company (formerly a part of the MDU Resources Group of companies), helping grow Fidelity’s Bakken leasing program into over 160,000 net acres, including developing multiple in-house lease administration and management programs.  In doing so, she was the winner of a prestigious MDU Einstein Award for a self-directed analytical project through which the company was able to recoup nearly $1 million in joint-interest overbillings.  Sarah holds a B.A. with high honors in International Business from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado at Denver, and has been designated a Certified Professional Lease and Title Analyst by the National Association of Lease and Title Analysts since 2007.

Brian Berwick

Senior Vice President, Geology

Brian Berwick

Brian is a Senior Vice President at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds, responsible for business development for the Non-Op Total Return strategy and all facets of geological evaluation of new investment opportunities. Brian is an award winning, proven exploration geologist with over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Brian owned Ponderosa Natural Resources, a successful geological upstream oil and gas consulting company. Brian assisted clients in deal evaluation, exploration, development, and full cycle asset exit execution.

Prior to Ponderosa Natural Resources, Brian was the Geologist at Axia Energy I and Axia Energy II. At both Axia Energy I and II, Brian was responsible for exploration, development, and asset divestitures. Brian and the team were responsible for successful, high MOIC projects in many basins around the country and became one of the best performing companies in their PE backed portfolio, with total asset sales exceeding $1.5 Billion dollars. While at Axia Energy II, Brian received the Michael S. Johnson Explorer of the Year Award through Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists.

Prior to joining Axia, Brian began his career and spent close to a decade at Samson Resources in their Denver office. Brian was responsible for exploration and development in many basins in the Rocky Mountain region. Brian and the team assembled their Williston basin asset, where they drilled some of the initial Bakken and Three Forks wells.

Brian was born and raised in Colorado and received his B.S. in Geology from the University of Colorado, and a M.S. in Petroleum Geology from the Colorado School of Mines.

Conor Hess

Senior Vice President

Conor Hess

Conor is a Senior Vice President at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds, and is responsible for evaluating new investment opportunities, monitoring existing investments, and portfolio company related operational work.

Prior to joining Fulcrum, Conor was an Assistant Vice President in the Energy Credit Resolution Group at Wells Fargo, where he assisted in the management and restructuring of a portfolio of distressed corporate energy credits, primarily in the upstream and oilfield services subsectors. Before moving to the Energy Credit Resolution Group, Conor spent time in energy corporate banking at Wells Fargo, where he covered a portfolio of non-investment grade energy credits, ranging from private equity backed, single basin operators to large-cap, diversified companies in the upstream, midstream and downstream sub-sectors.

Conor began his career as a rotational Analyst in Wells Fargo Capital Finance, spending time in factoring and asset-based lending groups in Denver, McLean, VA, and New York, NY across multiple industries. During graduate school, he interned at a boutique private equity firm in Denver, focusing on corporate carve-outs and special situations.

Conor was born and raised in Colorado and attended the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, graduating with a B.S.B.A. in Finance and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Corporate Finance. He also spent a semester studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata, Japan.

Douglas Sandridge

Senior Vice President

Douglas Sandridge

Doug Sandridge has over 40 years experience in petroleum land management, regulatory compliance and oil and gas marketing. Doug is Senior Vice President of Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds where he principally manages land, regulatory, environmental and community engagement activities relating to Gondola Resources, LLC’s oil and gas assets located in the North Park Basin, Jackson County, Colorado. Prior to joining Fulcrum, Doug was an independent consultant for SandRidge Exploration & Production Company, LLC, focused on their North Park Colorado properties. Doug was previously Vice President of Land and a partner in EE3 LLC. Prior to EE3, Doug worked for Forest Oil Corporation, Ellora Energy, LLC, Burk Royalty Co., Ltd., Cobra Oil & Gas Corporation and Petro-Lewis Corporation.

Doug graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management in May 1982. In 2011, Doug earned his Master of Science Degree in Global Energy Management from the University of Colorado – Denver. Doug is the founder of EnergyPolicyUS, an organization which promotes non-partisan energy education. Doug lectures extensively at various universities about energy and is an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma.

Ryan Sullivan

Managing Director

Ryan Sullivan

Ryan Sullivan is Managing Director at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds and oversees land and business development/commercial activities for Fulcrum Energy Operating. Ryan Sullivan has over 14 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry in direct land and A&D roles, along with business development experience alongside executives from top oil and gas companies.

Prior to Fulcrum, Ryan was Founding Member of Arbor Resources, an oil and gas consulting firm which has generated and successfully marketed over $80MM in oil and gas properties across the Mid-Continent and Rockies regions including non-op, minerals, and operated leasehold positions. Prior to Arbor, Ryan led the Land and Business Development group at Nighthawk Energy. He directed all land related transactions and contracts, covering an acreage position of 180,000 net acres and 2,000 bopd. Prior to Nighthawk, he was in the Land and New Ventures/A&D group at Terracore, a Denver based E&P company, with holdings across the Michigan and Bighorn basins of approximately 275,000 net acres. He has been fortunate to work with many leaders across the upstream space, and has built a strong network among family offices and E&P companies throughout the A&D market.

Ryan completed his certificate in Land Management from the University of Houston-Downtown, completed the Petroleum Super School at the Colorado School of Mines, and holds a B.S. degree in Physical Science with minors in mathematics and physics from Colorado State University.

Grant Farn

Managing Director

Grant Farn

Grant Farn is a Managing Director at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds and oversees the finance department of Fulcrum Energy Operating. Additionally, he currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Gondola Resources, LLC.

Prior to joining Fulcrum, Grant was the Chief Financial Officer for three separate private-equity backed upstream portfolio companies, where he was integral to fundraising, management, and acquisitions and divestitures.

Preceding his roles as CFO, Grant was a Director with Scotia Waterous where he provided M&A advisory services on over $20 billion of oil and gas asset and corporate transactions.  During his tenure with Scotia, he was a key component in the firm’s U.S. and international growth and was integral as an investment professional in the firm’s private equity platform.

Grant received a Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the University of Calgary and is a CFA designation holder.

Brad Morse

President

Brad Morse

Brad Morse is the Founder and President of Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds, where he oversees Fulcrum’s efforts in sourcing investments, capital raises, transaction negotiation and execution, monitoring of active portfolio companies and firm management and strategy.

Prior to founding Fulcrum, Brad was the principal energy investment professional at Equity Group Investments (EGI), Sam Zell’s Chicago-based private investment firm. At EGI, Morse monitored existing investments and closed over $500 million of private equity and credit investments on behalf of EGI and the Zell Credit Opportunities Fund (ZCOF), a $1.2 billion dollar private equity fund predominately consisting of third-party limited partner commitments. Brad served on the board of directors of several Zell related portfolio companies at EGI and ZCOF.

Morse has been involved in a wide range of restructurings and investments primarily within the energy industry relating to upstream, midstream, and downstream assets. Prior to EGI, Brad was an investment banker at Houlihan Lokey Capital in the firm’s New York office. At Houlihan Lokey, Brad worked in the Financial Restructuring Group where he was involved in a variety of distressed mergers and acquisitions, debt capital raising transactions, as well as other financing transactions in the special situations and distressed space across multiple industries. Brad grew up in Denver, Colorado, and received a B.S.M. in Finance and Business Law as well as an Energy Specialization notation from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, and an M.B.A. from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.

Currently, Brad is a Board Member for several Fulcrum-related private portfolio companies. He also is actively involved and holds leadership positions in numerous business and non-profit community organizations.

Chelsea Kraft

Reservoir Engineer

Chelsea Kraft

Chelsea Kraft is a Reservoir Engineer at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds with 15 years of experience. She is responsible for all facets of reservoir engineering, providing objective engineering assessments and asset evaluations that help to inform capital planning and investment decisions.

Prior to joining Fulcrum, she worked for a private investor in mineral and royalties, building multiple investment funds across all major unconventional basins in the continental U.S. She started her career as a Reservoir Engineer with Saga Petroleum working in the Rockies, Alabama and Midland basin assets.

Chelsea earned her B.S. in Petroleum Engineering with a minor in Geological Engineering at Colorado School of Mines.

Annalee Penner

Vice President, ESG & Regulatory

Annalee Penner

Annalee Penner is a Vice President at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds, and is responsible for the environmental, sustainability, and governance (ESG) department and regulatory matters at Fulcrum Energy Operating. She collaborates with local, state, and federal regulators to achieve a common goal of compliance and permitting. In addition to compliance, Annalee continually seeks to reduce the pollution footprint of the portfolio companies and engages with management, field personnel, and industry peer groups to identify the leading initiatives.

Prior to joining Fulcrum, Annalee was a Senior Environmental Coordinator at Crescent Point Energy, where she led the environmental department in compliance, permitting, and ESG efforts in the upstream oil and gas sector. Before moving to Crescent Point Energy, Annalee supported environmental compliance in the midstream group of Marathon Petroleum.

Annalee began her career in the environmental consulting industry, starting in Missouri and later moving to North Dakota in 2012 to support the railroad and oil and gas industries. Annalee was born and raised in Missouri and attended Missouri State University.

Jason Schmidt

Senior Vice President, Operations

Jason Schmidt

Jason Schmidt is Senior Vice President of Operations at Fulcrum Energy Capital Funds and oversees operations at Fulcrum Energy Operating, and responsible for development planning and execution, pursuing operational excellence at existing investments, and assisting in the evaluation of new investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Fulcrum, Jason served in various leadership roles across production, operations, completions, and reservoir engineering at Taprock Resources, Crestone Peak Resources, and Ovintiv (and predecessors). Jason has over 20 years of experience operating both conventional and unconventional oil and gas wells across the United States and parts of Canada.

Jason grew up in Wyoming and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
